Full sun; little water. Grows to 6-8’ tall, spreading indefinitely by rhizomes. Sends up thick stems clothed in irregularly lobed leaves; stems and foliage are grayish green. Stems bear huge white, slightly scented flowers; each blossom has five or six crepe-papery petals centered with a cluster of golden stamens. Blooms from late spring into summer, into fall with some watering. Flowers are handsome in arrangements. Known as being highly drought tolerant when established.
