Full sun-light shade; medium water needs. Evergreen open shrub from Brazil that typically grows 6-8ft tall and wide but may reach taller. The ribbed leaves are ovate-long and new foliage is covered with velvety red hairs. A spectacular bloomer with its rich royal purple five-petaled 2-3in. flowers at the ends of the branches in the spring through fall.
