Full sun-part shade; little to moderate water. Evergreen shrub, grows to 1-3ft high and 3-4ft wide, spreading by underground stems when cold weather arrives. One of the best Mahonias for winter color: dull blue0green holly-like leaves turn bronzy or pinkish in winter. Short clusters of bright yellow flowers in late winter to early spring are followed by blue ornamental berries. Good groundcover and for erosion control. Deer resistant.
