Full sun-bright shade; regular water. From southeaster U.S. Broad. Rounded shrub to 6ft tall and 8ft wide, with handsome, deeply lobed, 8in. long leaves that resemble those of oaks, turn bronze or crimson in fall. Elongated clusters if white flowers in spring and early summer turn pinkish purple as they age. Prune after bloom. Very frost hardy. Thrives in much dryer locations than other hydrangeas.
