Full sun; moderate to regular water. Graceful deciduous tree, attractive in any season, especially in fall when leathery, fan-shaped, light green leaves of spring and summer suddenly turn gold. Leaves hang on for a time, then drop quickly and cleanly to make golden carpet where they fall. Can grow to 70-80ft tall, but most mature trees are 35-50ft. Usually grows slowly, about 1ft a year, but under ideal conditions can grow up to 3ft a year. Very tolerant of air pollution, heat, and acid or alkaline conditions.
