Full sun; reular water. Evergreen shrub. Native from Southern CA, northern Baja California. Rounded, compact, arching growth to 3ft high and wide. Wrinkled, toothed gray-green leaves to 2in. long are elliptical or lance-shaped, deliciously fragrant. Foliage makes a refreshing tea and is also used as a preservative in potpourri. Dark red flower stems and calyx tubes, dark violet-blue flowers. Blooms in early summer. Drought tolerant. Deer resistant. Prune after flowering.
