Full sun; medium water needs. An evergreen clumping strap leafed perennial from Australia. Clumps to 1.5-2ft tall and wide with dark green leaves. Striking, fuzzy, tubular large flowers in bright golden-yellow, curved at tips; tips split into six segments, on bright red stems to 3-4ft tall. Flowers attract hummingbirds. Bloom from late spring to fall if spent flowering spikes are cut to ground. Good cut flowers. Prefers light sandy soil or heavier soil with good drainage.
