Full sun; regular to low water. Evergreen perennial with green foliage reaching to 18in high and produces red flowers on branched 2ft tall stalks covered with red hairs. Blooms form spring to fall if spent flowering spikes are cut to ground. Flowers attract hummingbirds. Prefers light sandy soil or heavier soil with good drainage.
