Orchid cactus likes bright light. This exotic houseplant is perfect for hanging baskets right inside your window (or you can take it outdoors to a shaded place for a little summer vacation). If the plant gets enough light, it may produce beautiful, creamy-white orchid-like flowers.
Light: Prefers medium light conditions.
Water: Prefers more water during the warmer months, but won't appreciate sitting in wet conditions. Try to keep things lightly moist. Water as the top of the soil starts to dry out but there is still moisture at root level. In winter, allow the the soil to dry out a little more between watering.
Temperature: Needs average to warm conditions 16-25°C but will be OK down to 10°C for short periods.
Humidity: High humidity requirements. Ideally suited to kitchens and bathrooms where they can take advantage of any steam generated.
Height and Growth Rate: Trails 1-2m. Fast growing. Cut back to desired size if it gets too long.
